The Moon is A Hologram is an homage to classic Sci-Fi films such as The Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and The Day the Earth Stood Still. The film was financed by a Manchester Pride Superbia Queer Arts Grant.

Selene Rafaela Kapsaski is a filmmaker, writer, and producer living in Manchester. Selene is the director of the Horror Musical Spidarlings (2016) released by TROMA and the upcoming Sci-Fi film The Moon is a Hologram.
Selene directed the documentary Laganja’s Dance School (2019) featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race star Laganja Estranja, and is the director and a co-creator of the US TV show London Calling (2015-2017). Selene also directed a segment for the anthology feature films Grindsploitation 4: Meltsploitation (2018) and Films Confiscated from a French Brothel (2021).
Her debut novella Nazi Sniper was published in 2015 by Sleazy Viking Press. In 2021 she wrote the supernatural horror novel Sisters of Manchester with Pulp author Jeff O’Brien and the mystery thriller To Hell or High Water with Beth Warburton.
